Gilbert Speaks on The Keepers: Who Killed Sister Cathy

2 Jul

Absolute power corrupts absolutely, especially if that power hides behind a religious collar. The Roman Catholic Church never expected the victims of sexual abuse to come forth and tell their stories. But when these poor victims did, all hell broke loose. Who is Sister Cathy Cesnik and why should we do everything in our power to punish not only her killer, but the church that allowed the crime to go unpunished? This true story has many disturbing parts. Continue reading

Gilbert Speaks about the FX Miniseries: Taboo

5 Dec

There is a new show coming to the FX Channel on January 10, 2017. There are several reasons that I want to watch this miniseries: Taboo stars Tom Hardy; the series promises sex, danger and intrigue, but the main reason that I want to see Taboo is because Ridley Scott is one of the producers and I love all of Ridley Scott’s works. What do we know about the show? Find out after the jump.

Taboo is set in the year 1814 and follows James Keziah Delaney (Tom Hardy) to the ends of the earth. This journey has led many to believe Delaney long dead, but they are in for a surprise when Delaney returns home to London to inherit his father’s shipping empire. Surrounded by conspiracy, murder and betrayal, Delaney must take control of his father’s legacy while avoiding being killed by his enemies and solving a dark family mystery. This series will have us rethinking what we know about the East India Company

Taboo was created by Steven Knight, Tom Hardy and Chips Hardy. Ridley Scott and Kate Crowe are the executive producers. Directed by Kristoffer Nyholm and Anders Engstrom, the miniseries offers eight episodes and stars Tom Hardy, Oona Chaplin, David Hayman, Michael Kelly and Jonathan Pryce.

Taboo promises its viewers a wild ride and I’ve already bought my ticket. I love adventure and I’m hooked for the entire event.
