Gilbert Speaks on “American Horror Story: Apocalypse S08 E05

11 Oct

In tonight’s episode of “American Horror Story” we get more background on what happened to the coven before the bombs fell, and what Cordelia witnessed in her vision. We also get a special treat and song.

Boy Wonder

Not everyone at the Hawthorne school is impressed with young Michael’s gifts. John Henry is wary of allowing the boy to take the Cordelia’s seven tests. Unfortunately, the ever-loyal Meade (Kathy Bates) prevents John (Cheyenne Jackson) from doing his investigation. Michael also has an ally in the Grand Chancellor who doesn’t care what Michael is as long as he becomes the new Supreme.

Sarah Paulson, still her fabulous self as Cordelia, gives the boy the first six tests, which Michael Langdon (Cody Fern) passes with flying colors. There is one final test, and that is to retrieve Misty Day (Lily Rabe) from frog dissecting hell. Myrtle is totally against Cordelia allowing the tests to be given to this obnoxious boy, but Cordelia sticks to her plan. She has had a vision of the future, and it is frightening. She gives the boy his last test.

Michael goes to hell and after killing the hellish science teacher, rescues Misty and brings her back to Cordelia. I wonder if Mallory (Billie Lourd) and Misty are related because both of them are able to bring the dead back to life. We also get to see Coco’s (Leslie Grossman) special power…she can sense gluten.

We can’t have a celebration about the coven and the return of Misty without a visit from the White Witch, Stevie Nicks to belt out a song. I hope that Stevie drops in throughout the eight season because I love her songs.

When Michael wins the rights of becoming Supreme, Cordelia seems to be dying, but don’t worry my little witchy poos, Cordelia still holds all four Aces in the deck, and knows that Michael is connected to her vision of the white-faced demon. After Misty’s reveal that Michael was speaking to an evil entity after killing the science teach, Cordelia sends Madison on a road trip with Chablis (Billy Porter). Madison (Emma Roberts) is going to California and to the very house where Michael was born: Murder House.

Now here is my question…will this be the last season of American Horror Story? With the coven connecting with season one what’s left to tell, and where do the writers go from there…the coven does the circus? If Andrew Lincoln’s Rick Grimes can leave “The Walking Dead” I am left to wonder if either of my favorite shows will be around for long. I hope that I am wrong on both counts.
